Michaela and Edmund's big day

On a, thankfully, sunny morning in March 2014 I remember driving up to Knowle House in Higham; an incredible Victorian house built in the middle of the 19th century surrounded by the trees and hills of the British countryside.

The staff were busily preparing the dining room for our meal, and I headed out through the conservatory where our reception was going to be, into the gardens. There, the chairs were laid facing the gazebo which we were eventually married beneath.

As a part time restaurant, we were able to have our wedding, a delicious lunch, and the reception all within the grounds of a house that matched our DIY literary theme. Michaela and a host of our close friends used their skills to provide us with everything we needed for the big day including the Lord of the Rings themed cake and stationary, Michaela's dress, and a book themed paper bouquet (no real books were harmed in the making!)

After a fantastic day, of great food and even better dancing, we were able to stay overnight in the little cottage on the grounds before leaving the next morning.
